Kinship Family Support Services

Kinship Family Support Services is dedicated to offering education and support for those caring for other’s children, otherwise known as kinship caregivers.

We offer peer and professionally-led Education and Support groups in the Metropolitan Twin Cities area of Minnesota and via the web. Our programs are designed to bring people together who are kinship caregivers who may be a relative or kin stepping in to care for children, when their parents are unable to do so.

We are recognizing the shared emotional and lived experience of many who are caring for other's children, often grandchildren. The goal of our Education and Support Groups is to increase knowledge of financial, legal options and community supports; explore and utilize the protective factors in caring for children who may have experienced adversity, and increase connections of support for the kinship caregivers.
