Meet Our Group Leaders

Annie Burton

Greetings! I am a peer facilitator who has worked with people from varying backgrounds experiencing mental illnesses, domestic violence, and anger. I am a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist, Anger Management Counselor and Domestic Violence Facilitator trained in both the Duluth and Emerge models. I am currently Executive Director of Pathways to Change, a non-profit in North Carolina that helps those involved in the legal system to become better partners, parents, co-parents and learn better tools to become successful.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree Cum Laude from Harvard University in Social Sciences and have worked in higher education for most of my career. I’ve lived and worked in many cities, including Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Baltimore, Asheville, Charlotte, and now Durham, Hillsborough, and Siler City, NC.

I have personal experience with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and am a domestic violence survivor. I enjoy working with and helping people and look forward to our engagement, it’s sure to be a fun journey!
