I am a Certified Peer Specialist with experience working with people living with various mental illnesses, including those experiencing bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, dual diagnosis of mental health and substance use as well as those hearing voices. I am a Peer Specialist certified by the State of Texas. I have completed Support Group Facilitation Training through DBSA National. I have completed the Intentional Peer Support Training. I am a DBSA Support Group Facilitator and a Past DBSA Chapter President. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government from The University of Texas.
In the Mental Health field I have worked as a Certified Peer Specialist and Support Group Facilitator for a State Hospital. I worked at the Training and Technical Support Entity in Texas that Trains and Certifies Peer Specialists. My other professional experience includes a lengthy career in Human Resource Management in the Public and Private Sector.
I believe my interests in delivering authentic and intentional peer support are well aligned with the mission of Support Group Central. I look forward to working from a place of mutuality to provide peer support that assists people with achieving and maintaining an optimal state of wellness.
