I am a peer facilitator by desire and design. I have been walking along side other people on their journey of recovery and wellness for over fifteen years. I know firsthand the struggles and challenges people face. I have supported people through formal work such as the Veterans Administration Psychosocial Rehab and Recovery Center, PTSD Unit, Addictions Unit, and for community non-profit providers. I have been engaged with Mental Health America, DBSA, NAMI and the International Association of Peer Supporters. I am Certified Peer Specialist in North Carolina and I am a Veteran of Desert Storm.
I earned my Bachelor Degree in Human Services with Mental Health and Rehabilitation concentration. I have taught Crisis Intervention Training to Law Enforcement and was trained in Wellness Recovery Action Planning WRAP, Trauma-Informed Care, and earned a Coaching/Mentor Fellow Certification through the Veterans Administration.
Without the support of some great people along my path, I would not likely have reached the levels of recovery I now enjoy. I am passionate about influencing other people’s recovery journey and the framework of Support Groups Central may be your catalyst to a better life.
